Alepsis Hernandez is a visual artist based in Long Beach, California. Her work explores the lives of individuals in her community, using mostly artist friends as muses. She uses a monochromatic palette to highlight emotions and qualities of the figure. In her recent work, Hernandez explores the spiritual journey humans go through - using reverse portraiture and flowers to represent growth and nurture of the self and others.
In 2019, Hernandez collaborated with the Los Angeles Metro to create a painting digitally displayed at stops along the Blue Line and TAP ride cards. The County of Los Angeles awarded her a Commendation Award for her participation in El Montes community mural project in 2021. Her past clients include Chevrolet, LA Galaxy, Nike, New Era, and Private Sneakers. She has participated in mural festivals like Long Beach Walls and Nam Jam in Vietnam.
